Preserved Real Sheep Heart | Resin Coated
Formaldehyde preserved sheep's heart.
Formaldehyde stops the process of decomposition by cross-linking proteins in tissue.
Commonly used in wet specimen preservation but can also be used to preserve and dehydrate a tissue sample or by sealing the tissue sample indefinitely.
While formalin is used, like a wet specimen they are soaked to remove as much formalin as possible as the cross-linking process has already taken place.
Resin encapsulated, provides a safer option for handling and displaying in the home. This also is a safe guard to stop pets from trying to consume by accident.
This part can be incorporated into your own work and safely displayed. You can drill into the bottom where the resin is strategically thicker if you wanted to mount onto a stand to be displayed in a dome.
Measurements are approximately (allow 1-3cm smaller differences) 14cm(L) 12cm(W- at widest part)

Basic care information based on how we have successfully cared for our hearts over the course of 6 months.
★ Avoid direct sunlight
★ Store at room temperature and avoid warm areas of the house. A layer of resin can warp if temperatures prolong 30°c (tested) this could alter the appearance of your product slightly.
★ Avoid humidity. Do not keep in bathrooms, close to humidifiers or damp prone rooms.
★ Product may experience small amounts of shrinking due to temperature and humidity influxes. This is normal over the years and cannot really be avoided. This is a real preserved heart.
Once the heart leaves our workshop, we are not responsible for how you care for it if not following our advice. We have successfully kept a majority of these hearts pristine on display for over 6 months. We understand how to care for them but all we do is advise. These are not plastic display pieces they contain a real preserved heart, while the heart cannot rot it won't fare well if neglected to follow advice given.
