This is not a CITES listed species although it is a near threatened species. 
This skull has come from a zoo in the UK. The bat died in captivity therefore there is no further paperwork or permit needed to own this item. 
This is a fruit bat native to Africa but was in a zoo in the UK and not taken from the wild. 
Due to the circumstances in which the skull was obtained it is able to be sold now within Australia with no further papers needed.

☆ Bats are a species that do not breed successfully in captivity therefore bat farms are a myth. 
☆ Bat taxidermy sold in mass production e.g., hundreds or thousands all similar species, poses, resin encased or little skulls, generally Asian species of bats are poached from the wild no matter what the original sellers says. There are no bat farms or breeding programs that are selling bats for taxidermy that sort of program would be for animal studies, research and attempted population increasing projects only. 
☆ A lot of bat species across the world are endangered (CITES listed) or threatened species. If sourcing bat products from it's originating native country always check if there is paperwork that needs to be filled exporting/importing or if the species is CITES listed. While selling threatened species isn't illegal, poaching still is in most countries. The reason some species are threatened is due to poaching among other various reasons such as habitat loss or predators. 
Buying mass production of taxidermy of a threatened species is contributing to a bleak future for the animal even if it isn't illegal, it's about making the right choices and decisions and being honest about the products you want to sell to your customers.
So next time you see a taxidermy bat for sale and the seller says "don't worry it's ethical these are farmed or used for meat, how many would you like, we have lots?" Just know without a doubt the only thing you're being sold is a lie.
