A Grade European Mole Skull
European mole skull.
Sourced from the UK from a farmer with a mole infestation.
This was a skull I debated on getting as the European mole is a native species to the UK but they're of least concern and widespread.
This small skull is approximately 4-5cm(L).
This is small, therefore it was processed through oxidation. Although it's been cleaned there are/could be traces of grease in the skull. This is because over processing of a skull this delicate could be a risk of it falling apart and tiny microscopic teeth being lost.
This skull is considered clean. If grease is present there is no odour.
The farmer explained to me that the killing of a mole through proper means like a trained person that deals with pest control is not illegal but it has to be warranted if land is getting damaged.
Due to the forthcoming response from the supplier I decided to purchase these skulls. I do not condone unnecessary killing of an animal but I understand the struggle with the over population of a species in one area and the damage they can do.
Due to the supplier being honest and did not give me the "ethically sourced" spiel just to make a sale I respected his decision if he needed to cull mole through the appropriate means that was humane and done with professionally trained personnel.
