Hoshizuna (Japanese Star Sand) Mini Star Vial

These are the shells of microscopic organisms called foraminifera, which build intricate shells from the calcium carbonate they collect while drifting through the water. 
Each mini star shaped glass vial can contain approximately 1000 pieces of mini stars. These are almost microscopic but you can see under my macro lens they are tiny stars.
