Guinea Pig Foot | Wet Specimen
Wet specimen guinea pig foot.
Leave in vial as a wet specimen or remove it and dry it out. You'll be left with a completely preserved dry foot that will not reverse process and rot.
These feet are fixed using formalin. A substance that is very hard to come back from and for tissue samples like feet that do not contain organs and have minimal tissue and fats, these dry rock solid.
These guinea pigs were donated to me earlier this year and were unfortunately killed by a dog that jumped a fence. The feet were something I could salvage as I would go on to use the rest of the bodies as dermestid beetle food.
Fixed with 10% NBF and suspended in 70% ethyl alcohol.
